Students who undertake this course gain an understanding which equips them to enter the retail industry even with limited retail experience. This course gives students extensive knowledge in the diverse retail industry, and allows the ability to be innovative in their thinking. Students gain knowledge of retail operations such as logistics, demand forecasting, budgeting, employee management, customer service essentials, legal regulations, and the overall day-to day running of a retail outlet.
Catholic Agricultural College endeavours to provide our students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the retail sector whilst completing this course. Students help manage the College stands at various exhibitions and field days throughout the College year, and students are encouraged to undertake part-time employment and traineeships at one of the local businesses such as the supermarket, bakery, butcher, and other shops.
