2008 Australian Vocational Student Prize


A 2008 Australian Vocational Student Prize has been awarded to Madeline Gardner from Catholic Agricultural College Bindoon by The Hon Julia Gillard MP, Minister of Education.


The prize recognises high-achieving students who completed their Year 12 studies in 2008 while undertaking vocational education and training in schools or an AustralianSchool-based Apprenticeship.


In addition, the prize promotes the benefits of studyingvocational education while at school and reflects the commitment of schools, training providersand employers to making vocational learning a valuable and relevant experience for students.

The names of all prize winners are published on www.deewr.gov.au/avsp and all recipients of the Australian Vocational Student Prize receive a certificate and $2000 mailed to their home address.

The other half being all her teachers, farm, equine and classroom, and the residential carers, Brothers, Nurse, Kitchen Staff and everyone who taught, encouraged, supported, comforted, affectionately persuaded and firmly insisted, that she could acquire new skills and ways of dealing with the world, and suceed." - Jane Gardner, Madeline's Mother.

 

Madeline was the Head Girl for 2008 and she was nominated by the Catholic Agricultural College Bindoon due to her outstanding achievements in both academic and vocational and the College would like to congratulate Madeline for receiving the prestigious award.
